NBA Commissioner Adam Silver argues Kobe Bryant should appear in 2016 NBA All-Star game

first_imgSAN ANTONIO >> The man ranks as the NBA’s worst 3-point shooter. He has cemented a career-low in shooting percentage. His team has started out with the Western Conference’s worst record.None of these qualities would merit consideration for an NBA All-Star appearance. But all of those reasons become complicated for one simple reason. The man’s name is Kobe Bryant. The NBA released its All-Star ballot on Thursday, with voting concluding on Jan. 18, 2016. Legions of fans from Los Angeles to China will likely vote for Bryant in hopes to see him make his 18th NBA All-Star appearance in Toronto on Feb. 14, 2016 during his 20th and final NBA season. But the Lakers’ overtime loss on Wednesday to Minnesota featured Bryant coaching his young teammates from the sideline after voluntarily sitting out after the 3:56 mark of the third quarter.“If he wanted to, he’d be pretty good at it,” Lakers forward Julius Randle said about Bryant’s coaching prospects. “He was patient.”After sinking a 7-foot bank shot with 2.2 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, Lakers rookie point guard D’Angelo Russell and Bryant bumped chests on the sideline. After Russell missed an 18-foot fadeaway with 3.9 seconds left in overtime that could have sealed the win, Bryant wrapped his arms around Russell. “Kobe was coaching me the whole time,” Russell said. “He kept telling me, ‘You know you got that shot. Don’t forget about it.’”Relishing new roleFew expected Larry Nance Jr. to start ahead of Randle. “We were all shocked,” Nance Jr. said before backtracking. “That may have been the wrong word.”Nance Jr., whom the Lakers selected 27th overall, has averaged 4.0 points on 44.4 percent shooting and 4.5 rebounds in 25.5 minutes through two games as the Lakers’ starting power forward by perfecting one quality.“I have to bring the energy every time,” Nance Jr. said.Nance posted similar numbers as a reserve (4.0 points, 3.5 rebounds) despite playing fewer minutes off the bench (16.6). Meanwhile, Randle has averaged 11.7 points and 9.2 rebounds as a starter in 28.4 minutes per game. Yet, Lakers coach Byron Scott argued he made the switch to ensure a better collective lineup.“He plays with a lot of energy and is a guy who knows how to play the game,” Scott said of Nance Jr. “He doesn’t go out there and try to do too much.”Injury updateThe Lakers listed second-year guard Jordan Clarkson as questionable to play in Friday’s game against San Antonio after he suffered a mildly sprained right ankle. He stayed out of Wednesday’s game in Minnesota from the 3:27 mark of the third quarter after accidentally stepping on Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins in the first half. “I hope to see him there. I think he deserves to be there,” NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said Thursday on SiriusXM Radio. “He’s going to retire as one of the NBA’s greatest players.”Bryant’s popularity should overcome his season averages of 15.9 points, while shooting 30.9 percent from the field and 22.3 percent from 3-point range in 30.9 minutes per contest. But Bryant should also benefit from being listed as a frontcourt player after manning the small forward position. He will not have to compete for a backup spot against Stephen Curry, James Harden, Chris Paul or Russell Westbrook. Coach KobeThe question immediately caused Bryant to laugh. Would he ever become a coach?“That is the funniest thing I’ve heard,” Bryant said, before quickly dismissing the idea. center_img Newsroom GuidelinesNews TipsContact UsReport an Errorlast_img read more

Age of Empires IV rumored gameplayinformation dump E3 2019

first_img$21.00 Age of Empires III A new leak has suggested that Microsoft will have a whole segment for Age of Empires at this years E3. The leak hints towards gameplay being shown off.    The leak comes from NeoGAF user Braldryr who has claimed he has insider information on Microsoft’s entire E3 2019 press conference. For the purpose of this post I will be concentrating purely just on Age of Empires IV, which Braldryr says will have an entire dedicated segment throughout Microsoft’s showcase.  Braldryr says that there will be a general “info dump” that will include a gameplay reveal and a release date of 2020. This certainly does make sense as we haven’t heard anything about the coming Age of Empires IV for quite some time now, the original announcement trailer was released back in August of 2017 and it has basically been radio silence since then. Since this isn’t an official confirmation and just a rumor, please do not take this information as gospel, it is merely an accurately guessed rumor.  If you are after more information about Age of Empires IV, here is everything we know about the title.
