The successful candidatewill be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas oftrauma, acute care surgery and critical care. In addition toproviding excellent patient care, the successful candidate willalso be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents,and fellows. For appointment at the Associate Professor orProfessor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain anoutstanding, extramurally supported research program.Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreignequivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginiamedical license. Candidates must be board certified / eligible ingeneral surgery and must have completed an accredited critical carefellowship. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professorrank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellentcommunication skills, and publications in high-impact journals arerequired. All qualifications must be met by the time ofappointment.The Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center is one of only 2 Level Onetrauma centers for the state of WV. The Center treats over 3,000trauma patients per year with approximately 2100 admissions to theservice each year. The service has support from dedicated advancepractice providers.
